It is the end user that counts - Test the performance of Mobisys Solution Builder

AVL

In 2008, AVL in Graz decided to implement Mobisys Solution Builder. A number of logistic functions are processed here with MSB and mobile radio data transmission terminals. The main emphasis is placed on entering batches and serial numbers for the assembly and shipping process.

Daimler

Daimler uses the MSB solution throughout its plant in Kassel. More than 100 mobile transactions are used. The following processes are mapped:

- Stock putaway and removal process in LES
- Stock transfers in LES
- Physical inventory in LES
- Supply to production
- Kanban
- Production confirmation
- HU management
- Serial number entry
- Internal transport system
- Stock information
- Service application
- Measurement reading
- Reading malfunction report
- Service order confirmation.

Approx. 800 mobile terminals are utilized which are operated in 3 shifts by more than 1500 users. In addition, there are about another 400 PC workstations on which malfunction reports for the manufacturing machines are entered via an MSB browser application.

EADS Astrium

In 2008, the aerospace company Astrium EADS decided to use MSB to significantly accelerate the pick process in conjunction with mobile radio data transmission terminals. Serial numbers and batches are entered here via barcode and are transferred directly into the outbound deliveries. In 2009, the system was extended by their IT staff to include a packing process and should be further enhanced in 2010 by an offline process which will be used at the Space Center in Kourou.

Ehrmann AG

Ehrmann AG uses the MSB solution both in their plant in Oberschönegg as well as in an additional dairy in their new plant at Ehrmann OOO in Moscow. Currently approx. 30 MDEs are in use.

EnBW AG

The Mobisys for R/3 interface solution has been in use since 1999 at EnBW AG, Germany’s third largest energy supplier, in their logistics center in Stuttgart; it was replaced by Mobisys Solution Builder in 2008 in the course of reorganizing the SAP systems and renewing the mobile hardware. In 2009, the regional external warehouses were also connected to simplify the posting processes significantly and to map all goods movements online in the SAP system.

Hartmann AG

Hartmann AG in Heidenheim uses MSB for their logistics to control both the picking and also the replenishment and putaway processes. At present, approx. 100 mobile and also stationary terminals are in use.

Infineon AG

Infineon AG has been using the MSB solution since 2005 in their plant in Warstein and in 2006 the plant in Hungarywas connected. The following processes are mapped:

- Stock putaway and removal in LES
- Goods receipt entry with label printing
- Picking with packing
- Dispatch labels and private label printing
- Physical inventory in LES
- Supply to production

Currently a total of 45 terminals are in use.

Kiekert AG

Kiekert AG in Heiligenhaus uses the new MSB solution alongside the Mobisys for R/3 interface solution in their main production facilities in the Czech Republicand Mexico. The SAP servers are installed centrally in Heiligenhaus. All SAP users are connected to this central system. MSB is also installed on this central system. The MDEs in Mexico and in the Czech Republic access these servers. Currently approx. 40 devices are used for the MSB solution. The following processes are mapped:

- Production confirmation
- HU management
- Pallet tracking
- Stock putaway, transfer and removal in LES
- Physical inventory in LES

These processes are created independently by Kiekert’s IT staff.

Mineralbrunnen AG

Mineralbrunnen AG in Bad Überkingen has been using MSB since 2005 to process the loading, picking and batch entry as well as the empties management. The system is centrally installed and is in use at 7 different sites. Currently there are approx. 80 terminals in use.

MVV Energie AG

MVV Energie AG implements the MSB solution in their warehouses. Alongside the goods withdrawals and physical inventory processes, mobile mapping of procurement processes is also carried out via SAP EBP. GMS-compatible terminals, which communicate with the SAP system via GPRS/EDGE, are used in isolated warehouses where no radio data transmission is available.

Philip Morris

Philip Morris, an internationally oriented corporation, has been using the MSB solution in their production plant in St. Petersburg in Russia since 2005. The SAP servers are located in Lausanne in Switzerland. At present a total of more than 50 terminals are connected directly to SAP. The following processes are processed:

- Goods receipt
- HU management
- Stock putaway and removals in LES
- Stock transfers in LES
- Picking
- Production confirmation
- Time recording
- Physical inventory in LES.

The processes have all been created independently by the IT staff at Philip Morris.

Villeroy&Boch

Villeroy&Boch uses Mobisys Solution Builder in a global project. The development and support of mobile applications is completely in the hands of Villeroy&Boch and is controlled centrally from their headquarters in Mettlach.  Up to now warehouses in Germany, Sweden and Australia have been connected. Additional warehouses in Europe and North America will follow.

Vitakraft GmbH

An international project has been implemented at Vitakraft GmbH, which includes alongside mobile data entry also a voice-controlled picking. Both MDE terminals and the voice terminals are integrated directly into SAP via MSB. The project comprises approx. 50 hand terminals for replenishment and physical inventory, and 60 voice terminals for picking and packing.  The system is used in the logistics centers in Bremen, in Buchs (CH) and also in the French logistics center in Bruyères (FR). The rollout in the logistics center in Holland is planned for Q2/2010.

Vitra

Vitra, a globally renowned manufacturer of seating furniture which has been awarded numerous prizes for design, decided to implement the MSB solution in 2009 and thus to replace a low performance web console solution. Mobile radio data transmission terminals were utilized for the production, assembly and logistics.

Volkswagen AG

Volkswagen AG decided in favor of the MSB solution in 2006 and uses it successfully in Wolfsburg. In 2008, the rollout was implemented in over 10 plants of Volkswagen AG in Europe and South America. On the whole 200 mobile clients, stacker terminals and hand terminals were put into use in the first phase. The processes were implemented by IBM Business Solutions GmbH.
